Are you all gonna be in Brixton Cycles kit? I'll wear my Brixton socks.. :)
-
• #1653
Indeed!
I forgot that Doug Will Smash is coming with us too. He will be in kit, plus you can tell where he's been by the trail of expensive and ruined bike parts he'll be leaving behind him.Manimal to the max.

Anyone doing this?
Tis my first sportive-type-thing. I'm going for the beginners one.
I think there's hills. Eek.

Just to mention that I'm doing the Little Lumpy too, but I've signed up for the epic which is quite a bit out of my comfort zone/current fitness level. I'll be driving down from SE London so there'll be room in the car for one person + bike if anyone is after a magic carpet ride to the start line.
I have friends who live locally, so I will probably be stopping for a nap and massive food session afterwards and thus can't promise anything by way of a prompt return trip.
(or a return trip at all, if it kills me) -

Ta for the offer but its dead easy for me to hop on a train at CJ so will be doing that. Do all the rides start at the same time? If so, I'll look out for you at the start. I'll be head-to-toe in brand spanking new Rollapaluza kit.

Good question this one, I'm not entirely sure.
The signing on tent is in the Tanners lane car park, where the Start / Finish is. It will be open from 07.30, with the first starters off at 08.00. Please do not arrive more than 30 mins before your start time.
Only I've got no idea what my start time is. Confusion. I'll probably be aiming to get there for half 7, plenty of time to figure out what the hell is going on. No idea what I'll be wearing - whatever's clean(ish) I guess, but I'll keep my eyes open for ya.

The "epics" set off an hour and a half before us "fun" types. Unlikely to see you at the start, then. Enjoy...

• #1659
Ah I see where you got that from. Reading fail on my part. If I see anyone in Rollapaluza gear I'll be sure to go through the whole DAS rigmarole, which will of course be hugely unfunny in the context. Have fun!

For single-speeders, it would have to be a DACBTTP.

For those doing the Tour of Wessex in a few weeks and wondering what to expect, I came across this write up from last years event.

19 September 2010
Cyclfit are organising their inaugral sportive "The Tour of the Marshes".
100k or 150k loop from Folkstone Racecourse across Dungness. Some downs action as well.
Tour of the Marshes
Cyclefit is holding its inaugural Sportive event in deepest, darkest Kent on the 19th September.
There are two routes:
The 100km route twists and turns acrosss Romney Marsh via Rye and Dungeness. the 150km route adds in some punchy climbs and descents at the end that will test your bike handling skills. Start and finish is at Folkestone Racecourse.
Jules' came up with the route...so think: Tour of Flanders, Paris Roubaix, Liege-Bastogne-Liege with fish and chips.
The website will be up shortly with more info and online entry.Route here:

If the wind blows it could be brutal.

Off to Somerset now for Tour of Wessex. Say 'hi' if you see someone wheezing along on a white condor squadra with a 'Bike Snob' sticker on the bottom bracket.

The marshes ride cyclefit are organising looks good. I've not ridden those parts before.

Is anyone doing the Newbury Magnificat? I'm tempted...

Anyone doing the Dragon Ride next week? Looking forward to it, but wished I'd got a few more rides in over the last few months to really get into shape.
