I know you want a brand fine new shiny bike for your brother,..though to be honest...you are just throwing money away/../.
You can buy a new bike...for £300...which will be as cheap as chips...it will have poor quality components, it will be a poor quality ride..(ie it won't roll) and it just gets worse from there...
you are far far better off...sitting on the forum for a couple of weeks and seeing what it posted here...
second hand bikes that cost an arm and a leg when new...that are going for silly money...
some of the bikes that are coming from the netherlands...really are hard to beat...they are loaded with amazing components, have really strong light frame (made from very good quality tubing)...and are only as much money as you want to spend on yor bike...
and as long as he keeps it in reasonable condition...
you will be able to sell it on with out losing a bean..
consider this please...
these bikes are just cheap and will cost you in long run...
where as spending 300 quid on a classic bike...will eventualy cost you nothing...you just keep it for a while and then sell it on...
Thanks Wingedangel for the sound advice.
Can you post a link to a thread to recommend a bike that I look at which is not overly expensive. This will give me something to compare it to and to read whilst I researching online at the moment.
