I will keep an eye out. Your bike looks amazing and would hate for that to happen to me. I hope your bike returns to you safe and sound. (stealing your handlebar idea by the way).

Pretty distinctive. Hope you get them back. Not my area, but I'll certainly be able to keep an eye out if something like that turns up round here. I'm a Carlton owner myself, so they do tend to catch my eye anyway.

Terrible luck. They're very unique though, so you never know.
I've quoted this into the Stolen Bikes thread for you, more people will see it there.

Gutted for you! Really sorry to hear it... Catch those fuckers!

it is very unique - hopefully it will turn up. If it is any consolation I posted my friends distinctive and stolen bike here last november and it turned up last week - someone picked it up at a market and googled the name of the bike and it lead to here.
There is hope for us all :DWill keep eyes peeled.

Madebynick, they say with every cloud there is a silver lining.
I'm sorry for your losses of bikes, but I can't help being totally bowled over by the wood bars you made!
Please, set up a blog, and make them commercially! Try to sell them on here and see how you get on.
I want one of those, or maybe even two! F*cking Dibs!!Hope you get the bikes back, but if not, I hope you sell a shedload of those bars. Outstanding mate.

If you are lucky enough thieves will not take it apart and try to flog it how it is. Should be easy to spot.

Wow guys, Amazing responses! Thank you for your kind words.
The bars were laminated from 9 layers of american ash and shaped by hand. I'll be making some in the summer so I'll post an add if you guys are interested. I have photos of the whole process which I'll upload for you too see in the near future.
I'm pleased to hear of the success people have had getting their bikes back. Please keep your eyes out. I want it back very badly!
Many many thanks again guys,
Nick

@ taogeogheganhart. They were taken from Allen Road, just on the edge of Stokey. Pretty much Dalston really. Watch out guys if any of you live round there!
You're all right btw. They should indeed have been inside...

Hi All,
Bit late with uploaded some photos of the Klein but it's pretty distinctive too. There can't be too many of these about in this colour scheme. It's a mix of orange and yellow called "Jamaican gold" and the bike has a brand new Shimano rear derailleur, so it'll be looking totally unused on the bike.
If anyone sees either of them let us know! We'll be hunting brick lane market etc on the weekend.
Thanks,
Owen -

Just saw this bike, still complete, at hackney wick train station. Bout an hr ago, they were waiting for a train heading south

Calling all hackney residents! Please keep an extra eye out for these two bikes. As we've had a sighting now, I am really hoping they are still in the area. Should you see the bike with or without an owner, please call the police immediately and do not
put yourself in any danger. The crime is linked to the address '7 Leonard Place' so please quote this when reporting. Many thanks in advance guys; I owe you all.

Hello guys, I hope you're all well.
Like many in london, me and my housemate were unfortunate victims of bicycle theft last night. The thieves took noisy tarpaulin off the bikes and cut through our locks right outside our windows. Damn double glazing!
The bikes in question were quite unique being a bright orange Klein full sus and a nice red Carlton with polished forks. The Klein is recognisable in an instant and the Carlton has wooden handlebars made by myself.
Please look out for A BRIGHT ORANGE KLEIN and a RED CARLTON WITH WOODEN HANDLEBARS.
Please see images of Carlton below:

You guys can contact me at madebynick@googlemail.com if you have any information or sightings.
Thank you in advance for your help. I really appreciate it.
