• Mega dint, surely worth getting it repaired though

• Mega dint, surely worth getting it repaired though

Do you really think so considering the following:
A: It's possible that it can't be repaired (no-one knows for sure)
B:Tho OP hasn't had it repaired already
C:The price
D:The competition (see fillet brazed Roberts above)
E: Pretty much all of the sound comments above.

I wish you luck my friend

• I'm sure it is repairable, i'm not sure though if it is worth, for the OP, to repair it and then sell it...
Also, you can't expect to make profit/not lose money with dented/repaired bikes....that's where I don't get the price.

• Sold yet?

Real shame with bikes like this, no idea if it can be repaired or not (someone said something about thin lugs making this difficult).

Friend of mine had a dinged Rourke. Lovely frame, easy repair to replace the tube and repaint. Didn't do it as it would cost more than the frame is worth - all that work and skill and time that goes into making the frame in the first place, seems amazing to me that they lose so much value, so quickly, that they can't be economically repaired.

I digress... this one is obviously unsafe to sell in it's current condition.

• get a framebuilder to asset the damage, find out what needed to be replaced/repaired, if it's just the top tube, no problem.

if it's the top tube and the lug, then you may need to spend more on repair thus a lower sales price is needed.

• I must be feeling argumentative, though it looks like this won't sell here anyway.

Personally I wouldn't sell, I've thrown climbing kit away in the past rather than sell it, as I would have felt irresonsible to pass it on. I'm no structural engineer, but does this look safe?

On the repair:
Mercian (ok, pbly not the cheapest, but their costs are easily accessible) repair cost: Replace top tube £85, re track frame £25 (maybe not necessary?), repaint from £100 (basic), postage there and back £30. Total = £240.

So this would be a £500+, repaired, non original paint frame. Really?

• .............. so I got my friend to win the auction for me. ................blah,blah........![](http://rover.ebay.com/roverimp/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?pub=5574889051&toolid=10001&campid=5336525415&mpt=[CACHEBUSTER])

so you ran the auction up (shill bidded) then when that little plan failed you sent out a second chance offer to the under bidder for 250.00 then when that failed you decided to offer it here for 300.00.

.............i see.

sorry if i missed something.

Barrett, a minibus hire firm boss, pleaded guilty to 10 offences at
Skipton Magistrates' Court after using two separate eBay accounts to bid on and increase the prices of his own items.

• That frame isn't worth anywhere near that in that condition... There's one born every minute...

• I think the OP should have taken the £250 it ended at on eBay considering the condition. Considering eBay prices are over inflated will be hard pushed to get anymore!

Love the comment that you could mistake it as brand new as I often see frames with massive dents and think they look as good as new!

• What's the point of an NJS frame made with Reynolds tubing anyway?

• I think the OP should have taken the £250 it ended at on eBay considering the condition.

hehe - looks like the shill bidder bidded twice - once up to £250- so a danger that they could have ended up with the second chance offer as well :)

• I think hes flogging this on C2C as well

• and back on ebay

• BIN, £300
