Ah. Just tried Ben's above and turns out I need 1 1/8". So try again - 175mm steerer, 1 1/8" forks for 27" wheels. Anyone?

is there such a thing? i thought 1 1/8" steerers were for a more modern a-head set up. not heard of a 27" wheel used with that kind of set up. could be wrong.

It's quite old - was told it's 1940s or so - and is built like a tank. The above fork is way too thin, and the diameter across the headtube is 300mm. Seems like I might be needing a specialist...
