If anyone is interested but £40 is too steep then I'm open to offers.
I should probably say that the 26" wheels do fit the bike. It is a boys racer, hence the small frame size and smaller wheels.
I've had it hanging around for a while and need to clear the space for the new bike I'm getting on the Bike4work scheme!
