  • i got the the lasco crankset aswell yesterday. i installed them, they look fine for me i want to get my bike on the road fast, but today i noticed that they make a nasty noise.. i dont know if anybody had this problem before.. i am using a formula hub, a 103mm sugino BB and a miche cog.. i think it is the chainline because the chain touches the outside side of the teeth of the chainset, but i cant get any smaller bb... did it happen before to anybody.? i need some help with this, that noise is loud!

  • I think the main problem is that they aren't machined very well inside, so they don't sit on the spindle as well as they should. I had that problem too, I've also found that the bolt works itself loose very easily and regularly (not sure if this is the cranksets fault or not, but never had the same problem with other cranks). Also from when I first fitted them I noticed that the crank arms aren't level when I look at it from the side.

  • It seems like quality control is the issue - if you get a good set (see people on the forum saying they've had them for a year+) then there's no problem, otherwise, you're hosed?

  • Right, got the chainset. Seems to have a perfect chainline with my tange 103 mm bb. Really pleased tbh. Will report back when i've actually put a decent amount of miles on them
