Just saw this thread (looking around for tips on fitting VO fenders).
New silver Salmons, or ones with various coloured reflective strips, can be bought still, from Francis Thurmer at www.cyclesplus.co.uk.
His website has no mention of them but I know he sells them. You have to telephone him, send him a cheque and all that 20th century stuff, there's no email or web ordering, kids.
He goes to jumbles quite a lot with a big van and has lots of racks selling all sorts of gizmos, but doesn't bring these along unless you ask him to beforehand.
They're great, but I've been told they can crack. I've had no bother with the ones I had on my Path bike (which I had painted with the frame to good effect) or my mercian faudax.
