are the one on one wheel sets much better then the standard wheel set on a fuji classic (track) i've seen the fuji wheel set go for £80 on here would it be worth selling them and buying the on one's?

A lot of people complain about the fuji wheelset, I can't comment as I've never used one.
Not sure if the Fuji Classic wheel set is sealed either, whereas the On-One wheelset is.

^They are road wheels for gears and cassettes

Damn. I thought if they were without hubs I could lace them to something. Thanks a lot doubletap, looks like the On-Ones really are the budget wheelset of choice, unless you can say otherwise?
-
• #32
I wouldn't really call them a budget wheelset though, they are really strong and light, 2 things which I needed in a new wheelset.

Right.

A wheel without a hub is a rim. And some spokes. Are you sure you know what you're doing?

Of course not. That's why your help helps.

someone lent me a fixed wheel bike the other week, and can't get enough of it! so decided to build myself one - thought some wheels would be the place to start, I bike a lot but not competitive......maybe £200 for a decent set thats smooth like butter. Been looking for some, (fixed) but most are freewheelers that i seem to come across, so i dont know if i'm missing something in my search...and they gotta look pretty gangstaaa =]

You could defo get a decent set for that.
These are top draw, yet would only set you back £265
Goldtec hubs laced to Ambrosio excellence. Very nice indeed.

I cant help but keep looking at these....http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/cid/JXPI1H0BWR908CJSTH0A8AFKQGES92SH/product-Dia-compe-Dia-Compe-Gran-Compe-Track-60th-Anniversary-Wheelset--700c--32-Hole-21360.htm

Spokes are gold......with white rims and hubs. So needs careful matching or it would look a bit Pete Tong.

£269 for the pair [£130 front]+[£139 rear]. For that price, the excellent hubs make the deal.
Though the chainline on those hubs isn't standard. -
• #46
what does this mean?
-
• #47
Search CHAINLINE, especially looking up Sheldon Brown. All will be made clear.

Good point.

Another set of options for fixed gear wheels; all the Shimano RS* wheels will take a Surly Fixxer. The RS30 looks like it could potentially be faster than Ellipses for time trials and pursuits, and more than £100 cheaper even with the Fixxer. The soon-to-be-released RS80-C50 is on my shopping list, Shimano's lovely carbon laminate rims in a 50mm depth and likely to be under £750 after being Fixxed.
*and Ultegra-based Pro wheels, so RC50, 4-Rays and road discs
Just ordered a set of the On-one wheels, will let you know how I get on with them.
