Wanted: Small flange track hubs

  • Need a pair of the above, ideally miche primato or similar, silver would be nice. Thanks.

  • Sorry need to jump on this thread. Can't do my own yet...

I need some advice about the same thing. My '78 Brown Raleigh Grand Prix is all sorted apart from a rear hub. Up front I have a 32H Large flange Harden sealed bearing hub.....very nice. I have some wing nuts and some nice polished 27" SUN rims on the way.....

I cannot find a 50's to late 70's English made 36H hub anywhere....Any ideas about what I should look for or where?

    It's been a good 2 months....she needs riding.

    Cheers
    Alex

Navarino....sorry about jumping on the thread....bump

  • forgot to mention....I need a low flange fixed hub...

You're more likely to find a 40h/32h (or more rarely, 28h/28h) track hub pairs made in England. As I understand it, 40hole rear hubs with 32h up front were pretty standard for english built bikes up to the time that the european stuff really killed off the homegrown companies - they europeans generally built with the same numbers each wheel - 36/36, 32/32 etc.

  • Just to add though, if you do go 32/40h you face a killer time trying to find 40h rims, tubs are a bit easier but clinchers will be a nightmare

  • Navarino- I have a Shimano 600 front hub in silver, I just have to find where I put it...... £'s not a lot...

  • I've all but given up for finding a matching 40/32 poliched 27" clincher set.....think its impossible.

    I found these:

Look good, well made. I can get them shipped to Oz for not a lot of $.

Just the hub thats a killer.

The front hub is a keeper: .....just need a rear.

So are you saying that that period English rear hubs only come in 40H, not 32 or 36? regardless of whether they're matching for front?

    If thats the case......I'm buggered
