hipster ish dude on black fixed today, at canford cliffs whilst i was lying in the sun.tell me about this dorset dash lads, im getting intrigued and want to do one of these night road rides this year. if you persuade me I could book train to Oxford tonight,
Leaves Oxford at 9pm Saturday evening, arriving on Christchurch beach some time on Sunday morning. The weather will be good so there will be plenty of eating and lazing in the sun, with the possibility of a dip in the sea.So you can get the train up to Oxford, meet me, have a cup of tea at the flat, see a bit of culture, then ride home.

only thing thats stopping me from booking is that John Franklin is speaking in Poole on the sat eve, I wanted to meet him and have a chat. let me check trains.

Nice one J. I'm thinking I might be geared if I'm doing the LDN -> OX earlier in the day.
Just been reading a bit about th eforum re-jig, and was wondering if there was a need/want for a Poole/Bournemouth sub-forum. Or is this thread enough?
Edit: seems like it would meet the criteria for it's own space... https://www.lfgss.com/thread43931.html -

I am mates with Warren who runs this site,
the core are into regular polo, shorter rides and messin about than distance like us on this thread. In fact they are playing Polo against Pompey on this sunday in the Pompey 'Love your bike'day. there are some good lads and lasses in amongst the group.@Plinth if tricks is your thang, the meets they have are on that site,
do you ride a black fixed btw?
Andy you might want to offer to start a sub forum, but I have cough, a full time job which means that I only pop in here in the day- cant devote time to it. -

No, red. Also, unaware of the politics behind all this so I wasn't trying to say one forum or group is better than another =)

o.k ,
fuck politics---------- we ride bikes -
• #891
Nah, there is no need to start another one if one already exists for Bournemouth. I just didn't realise BFG existed. Plus as I live in Oxford it's not really my place to start one...

It's not that he can't ride on the road, it's that he can't ride ;)Yeah I'm def doing the Dash, and it's looking like I'll be doing Richmond to Oxford earlier in the day. No idea how long it'll take, but hopefully be in Oxford by 3. 6 hours should be plenty of time but depends on the group and stops etc. So if you guys get here after that I should be about to meet you. Or if not I shouldn't be too long in getting there.
There are a couple of others doing both so might have some friends with me. -

will book train ticket what time shall I get there dad, best for you lot.Dunno what I am riding tbh. I got 1 bike I desperately wanna get rid of but apparently perfectly good racing bikes are hard to sell these days, I got another which I wanna strip down and start again and another which is in need of a respray ... so I dunno, I don't have 1 single bike I actually want to ride at the moment. TBH there is no way I am riding over 100 miles fixed, I cycled about 50 today SS and was totally shattered.
Spotted...
Guy who was smoking weed, had no brakes on his mountain bike and was spinning at about 200 rpm in the only gear that appeared to work.
