Bike recycling places in Cov

  • 3 places you might find useful:

Peace House - Stoney Stanton Road

Youpunkeroo - between homes (was at Canal Basin)

Jesus Army (discovered this week), up near sorting office / sally army.

Lee at Jesus Army is open to selling bits rather than complete bikes. So might Joab at youpunkeroo once he's back with a workshop.

May find the odd gem of a bike in them, but rare. Seen more over at Action 21 in Leamington.

  • My mate has just got a volunteer post at Action 21 doing some bike maintenance :) Will be checking them out for some parts/beater bike soon...

Never heard of Youpunkeroo, any website etc?

  • I don't actually live in Coventry... but I volunteer every week at the Peace House bike recycling workshop and I ride fixed. Just to let you know that we've got a few old racer frames in at the moment if anyone's looking for a project. We also have a 20s/30s old Raleigh with rod brakes and a three spring leather Brooks saddle!
Generally we would be happy to get rid of the frames that we have because we're not able to build them up due to the lack of and cost of parts so they'd go for about £10. Call the Peace House to see when they're open, I'll be there next on the 22nd December from 5:30 til about 8.

    Cheers
    -Chris

  • Hi Chris - Maybe donate the old Raleigh to the Transport Museum? Steve or Lesley would be worth letting know about it - it might be too young for them though, but worth a call.

  • Thanks, sounds like a good idea.

  • I might be interested in a frame :) Any other details on them, or best to call the peace house? Do you have any contact details?

    Thanks :)
