Maybe this shouldn't be used for posting something personal, but its has been all over the news.
Daniel Smith was a 22 year old electrician, who was shot and killed days ago in the KFC on Harrow Road, W9. I'd known "Dan" since he was quite little, and he was a good student and a good kid. He was never into gangs or anything like that. His mum was a strict person, and a good hard-working example to all three of her kids. Dan used to come by with his family, and often buzz the intercom to see if I was home. They'd come up and the kids would immerse themselves in the Sega Megadrive, and later, the Sega Saturn....yes, it was that long ago.
No-one knows why he was killed, but a growing theory is that gang members trying to climb the ladder of heirarchy, needed to prove to their gangs how drastic they could be. Dan was no part of that type of culture at all. He and another guy (white) were shot on the same day. The other guy lived. I'm devastated by this, not just because he was a son that anyone would be proud of, but the cruelty of life sometimes.
