  • So much worse than that...they have been sea freighted from NZ, in transit for 2 months now, I am going crazy here without wheels..

  • 'Nother noob here following an extensive period of lurking. Time to take the plunge since my rear wheel (ss) got squashed by someone mounting the kerb and driving into it when it was locked up. Sigh.

    (hello everyone)

  • Afternoon all, been lingering on the forum for a while and decided to join up. had a cheap Btwin race 1 for a while but it unfortunately got stolen last week. need a bike for work etc so probably going to take the plunge into the world of fixed buy a fuji track in the next few weeks. live in Forest Gate over in East at the moment. looking forward to getting on some rides and the like.

Are you me? i live in forest gate and have fuji (classic) track.
    Start a gang?

  • morning barnes, where you based in london? there are drinks in different parts of londondondon every day of the week plus a "on the spur" bike ride thread. just speak up:-) welcome

I'll be in the City University area. I've really got to start looking at maps of London...certainly now as simple as Philly.

So if finding people to ride with is that easy, the next challenge is finding a bike while avoiding rental bikes...

  • Mornin' all!

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been riding SS MTB for a long time now, but am about to dip my toe into fixed. Just accumulating bits at the moment, but hope to have something fabricated by the end of the month.

    Nice weather for it...

  • Another noob, just thought I would say Hi.

Just started building my first fixed bike from a 30 year old Raleigh (BSA "The Prima") that I owned from new but gave to my brother in law in the mid 80's. I have just salvaged it from his garage, stripped it down and sent it off for powder coating. Never ridden fixed before (my current commuter has a 10 speed triple (don’t laugh, I'm old)), still if I cant hack it I’ll give it to my son!

Great user name! How we laughed.

  • Hi, another newbie,

At the moment I ride in 17 miles on a Brompton, so that I can get the train back, and that I don't have to risk my main road bike with the pot holes. But, I am re-building a mid-80's Raleigh Triathlon. So far, it is stripped down and I am waiting for the frame and forks to come back from being shot-blasted. Anyone know of a good place for old Shimano 105 parts?

  • Check out Hilary Stone's sales. And use the search, for the love of Mohammed.

  • and dont repost!!!

  • and don't repost!!!

  • dick

  • I did check Hilary's sales, thanks, but she doesn't necessarily have everything. I'll try this search thing as well ;-)

  • Hilary as a woman. Discuss.

  • a big ugly woman

  • Discussion over.

  • oooh, no room for error here then

  • None I don't think.

So I'll say hi, as I got my parts from Big Ugly Woman today and started putting it all together, so I guess I'm here to stay. Also hoping to join West drinks at some point, and be social and stuff.

    :)

  • Hello, I'm not London based, been lurking for a while, now signed up. Looking for bits on the classifieds to go on a Neo Primato (c 2000), navy in colour.

  • And looking for my 3 posts so I can PM for said ^^ classifieds. I'll be quiet now and go back to lurking.

  • Hey, im Mikkel from Denmark. Love your site.

  • Hello, not really London based, been a lurker for some time, but recently decided to join... Keeping to date with some threads is sometimes hard without notifications ;)

  • Hi all.. new here looking forward to being an active member

  • Hi - I'm a new member. I recently sold my bike to facilitate a move back to the UK and am struggling to live without it. I'm holding out for something nice to pop up as I generally buy the first things that I see and then regret it when something awesome appears a few days later. Hopefully I'll be riding again in the next week or so.

    Anyway - hi!

  • Hi. I'm a n00b, but a lot of you will know me from other places.

I have 2.5 fixed bikes - 1981 Carlton, 1951 Rudge Pathfinder, and an Orbit Gold Medal frame waiting to be made up into a commuter to relieve the other bikes.

I came here on the recommendation of a fellow forumite from another place I frequent in the ether, in order to ask for witnesses to a serious incident that I was involved in this morning, but I can't post a new thread yet, so I'd better wait & just hang about here. Amazed i haven't registered before, given how often I've been reading stuff over here.
