I reckon the sort of interest in Things that permeates a bike forum fits pretty well with the astronomy mentality: putting together bits of hardware to create some sort of magic trick, whether it's turning pedals to carry you along the road, or fitting a mirror in a tube to show you the rings of saturn. And tools are pretty handy in both areas.
Anyway, I've missed the last couple of clear nights because of other things happening but hope to catch some planetary rays soon before saturn dips too low in the western twilight. In the meantime, how about this awesomeness shot by the legendary Thierry Legault?
