Well an interesting part of Armstrong's story is that he used to sue anyone who dared suggest he doped; until the results of the 99 EPO test were revealed. Then, even though he had retired and presumably had more time and more money than ever before, he chose not to involve his lawyers. Possibly because for once it wasn't just his word against someone else's? Because he knew that his risible attempts to discredit the test results wouldn't stand up in court?
As someone noted above Armstrong's cheating is especially vile because he uses his 'achievements' to inspire and give hope to people with cancer: basically he looks dying people in the eye and lies to them. Lying to your fans is one thing; what he does is something else entirely. For me, no amount of money that is raised by the Livestrong foundation can justify that.
