US congress votes 410-4 to support Mr Obama's plans to give Israel $205m for a missile system.

Iran's fucked. Another war, more reprisals. More terror. Vicious circle.

Putting the dreadful politics of the region aside the missile system is actually purely defensive (in the real sense of the word), with the aim of intercepting missiles which target the Israeli population. It's not really news, America has always backed Israel fully and unquestionably and this is simply a continuation of that policy.

With the Israeli prime minister basically saying "so fucking what bitch, what you gonna do about it" recently, in regards to the enormous amounts state/corporate funded illegal construction happening on illegally occupied land. When its been reported in the press that both H.Clinton & Obama are supposedly working furiously/demanding them to stop such actions.

It has also been reported in the press that Obama was intended to cut the long-standing funding to the israeli's. In the aftermath of their reckless palestine invasion/bombing this seemed plausible.

But at such a time giving an already massively rich state lots of dorrar for anything, let alone a missile system. Israel can easily afford to install their own system. Why should the US be giving them money when they have been spending so much of it flouting rules and creating humanitarian disasters?

Obama, for all his spoke-cardliness has shown that what he says and does are different things (Two days after becoming president he signed an executive order promising to close Guantanamo within a year). Most likely the US is acting a little tough on Israel at a time when it needs international support for it's stance on Iran. Naturally, away from TV cameras it's business as usual.

There is a difference between opposing a country's ruling party's political agenda and funding a system to defend said country's people.

This missle system is a bit neo conservative in its thinking but if it saves innocent lives then it is no bad thing. I don't think the obama administration is being hypocritical by criticising israel's policies while funding operations to keep isreali citizens safe.
