Frankly I'm livid with myself. I spent ages sourcing all the bits for the build, trawlled on here for parts and got the stem and the post from other LFGSSers, but didn't spend enough time making sure I was happy with the size. Long story short I need a 58cm (c-c) compact frame not a 58cm (c-t) standard frame. Lesson learnt.
Ergo its up for sale. I guess I could move the frame on seperately if someone's interested (poss interested in px for a roadrat/pompino/hanzo/60cm old frame) but I'd rather sell the bike as a whole if possible. I live in Dorset now, and am happy to post, but have family in London still so could potentially drop off or meet somewhere along the M3 corridor.
Newly resprayed and rebadged with orignal decals, Rondinella frame from 1978, hand made by Vic Edwards in Romford from Reynolds 531 'Special Lightweight' double butted steel tubing. (see http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/rondinella.html for more details of this one man in a shed creating classics, suffice to say he was my local frame builder when I was a kid so I really wanted this to fit). 57cm c-c st, 57cm c-c tt.
New Cinelli Stem
New thomson seatpost
4 rides old Brooks B17 narrow imperial saddle (with scuff near rear logo where I turned the bike over on tarmac without thinking, doh!)
New Chris King Grip Nut headset (hen's teeth I'm sure you'll agree)
Handbuilt new Suze Promax hubs fixed/free, laced onto open pro rims, in a Hybrid crows foot pattern.
dura ace 16t sprocket, surly stainless lockring
Campagnolo Centaur cranks (new), 172.5mm, 42 tooth chainring (plenty of life left)
KMC chain
campagnolo front brake (rear available along with original chrome campagnolo top tube cable guides)
Cinelli bars, with easton tape, also 4 rides old
I've changed the tyres for specialized's, but could put krylion's on. I'm keeping the pedals and the bottlecage and might keep the saddle unless anyone's interested.
If the wheels are wanted seperately I've got a pair mismatched hubs on mavic rims that aren't so bling but are just as true that could go on the Rondi if required.
I rode it one last time this week then wiped the road dust off frame and parts, oiled the chain and now itscovered up indoors eagerly awaiting its new owner. £600 ONO
