Nice work! Please provisionally put me down for 1x 3.brown bigger grain, or maybe a 2. Need to co-ordinate with my brooks saddle! How secure and durable is the backing tape??

pms replied to, the backing i have chosen is heavy duty, "this tape sticks like glue" type stuff. It allows initial repositioning but after that wont budge unless you try to shift it.

@ la lanterne rouge the one in the picture is a number 3, it may be slightly dark for honey, but should be a good match for brown brooks, plus the darker it is the less the dirt will show.

Looks great, but do you think it will it leave marks/ damage the paint when you want to remove it?
-
• #11
Dibs on a no. 3 please!

@spicerice im yet to remove it, the backing used is very similar to a velo orange one i had a while back and that did not damage the paint. As long as the paint is in good condition (not flaking bubling rusty etc) i dont see why it would mark.

hahahahahaha
Wanting a leather chain-stay guard to compliment my saddle and tape on my new fixed tourer build I decided I would make one, the same as number 3. Following a few enquiries, I decided I would do a small limited run of them for sale on the forum.
The guards are hand-made from leather and cut by hand to a guide with a sharp eye, and an even sharper pair of scissors! So the If there is any demand, I may make a few more. To fix, just remove the backing tape and press it on a clean and grease free frame and enjoy! I will endeavour to buy the forum a beer from the proceeds.
I’m in York. The price is £4 posted, payment via paypal gift. PM Me for details.
