The GC and the Suzie are pretty damned close in quality though. Note that the standard pro max has cup and cone bearings, which will need a degree of looking after. The pro max SB is of slightly lower quality but has sealed cartridge bearings, which are near maintainance free. The GC's also have cartridge bearings.
(FTR I personally quite like cup and cones, but often buy cartridge for simplicity)
So if you want cup and cone = Suzie pro max
If you want sealed cartridge bearings = Grand Compe
