For Sale: What is this?

  • During the winter, my friend, a convinced bikefreak who knows everything of bikes and biking (but nothing of computers), rebuilded, repainted, reconstructed 5 bikes in a very passionate and skilled way.
This bike is one of thes five.
He used for it a 57cm Belgian Flandria frame of about 50 yars old. He stripped, repainted, reconstructed it in beautiful retro style. The bike is called Beterami, derived from his own family name.
The bike is built up with rather modern parts. These parts make the bike more suitable for daily use. As you see there is a derailleur on it. However the bike is very easy to rebuild to a single speed.
Special attention for the tires. Very fat balloons, no skimmed racing tires.
The incredible result is a very fast (yesyesyes) and supercomfortable bike in magnificent retro style.
    Looking for 215 euros

  • pretty thisssss

  • Your thread title made me chuckle - it reminds me of this nutter:

    Good luck with your sale.

  • It reminded me of this;
YouTube- Going for gold part 2/8

  • Its like a much better version of a pashley guvnor.

It might need some better brakes though.

  • huge clearances, although it looks like MTB wheels, and no brazed on rear mech hanger are a give away- probably the frame is made of gas tubing, looks neat brazing on the tubes, however, each to their own.

I'm not convinced the brakes actually touch the rims square on......

  • I'm not going for gold. Euros or pounds: okay! (and you have a unique bike)

    .

It's still worth it for someone who wants a whole bike.

  • El Diablo,
Wheels (28inch) are touringbike wheels, not MTB wheels.

  • i think it's awesome. slightly reminscent of an ANT bike, but if it was my size, and I had money I'd snap this up!

    Yup.

    And with biopace!

It was the "What am I?" I was referring to.
    Good luck.

    all-right lance armstrong

  • i'm sure it will appeal to a fashionable element but basically it's a an old frame unsympathetically treated

  • then I must revalue my vast collection of bikes seriously upwards from my previous ledger book estimates- I must have a chat with my auditor, and then the actuary.....
