Hi all,
Cycling into work this morning at about 9.30, there wa s afair bit of traffic in both lanes heading east...
i was cycling in the middle of the two lanes between the traffic and i was approaching the front of the traffic lights when the passanger of a white van opened their door...
I went flying approx 7-10 mph right into the edge of his opening door... ie not int o the inside but right on to the edge...
I stopped dead but luckily was able to move my head and face out of the way and i went into the door with my neck and shoulder, stopped dead and crumpled into a heap between the van and the taxi....
Not sure what to do nhowe, been to the hospital and had myself checked, nothing too serious, bruised finger and swollen neck, bit of whiplash and lower back strained but no breaks luckily...
Bike has a big gash along the top tube where the paint has stripped, rear wheel is now making a crush sound as the wheel turns, handle bars stripped of bar tape etc... not had a chance to check if the frame is bent or damamged seriously yet...
I amnot sure what i need to be doing now, i got his details and the guy behind me cycling stopped and took photos and give me his card also....
I am going to report it to the police but not what for,...
i want my bike restored to how it was really and not surwe what else... the guy seemed ok, obviously still a bellend for opening a passenger door whilst in traffic but ok non the less....
What do i do after i have reported to the police? contact him for money for repairs or do i have to call one of those scum bag lawyers off the tv?
