I find the Wipperman Connex 808 very good (£14). They don't rust and I use them in all weathers, mud etc,. With a regular muc off added in each week. Nice joining system too.
It is not black though but a bit of oil will soon fix that! -

Usually black chains are the cheaper ones and corrode quickly.
I always prefer nickle plated (inner and outer links) chains because these look good and don't corrode that quickly.
KMC does stainless steel chains, but these are not black.I use several SRAM PC870 chains, although these have just nickle plated outer links
PC890 has Ni plated inner links also, but too expensive for me.
Sram connecting link is fine to use. -

Chains should be silver without exception.

Izumi NP is specifically design for single speed use (apparently), so less lateral flex than re-approprating a geared chain.

I use these on everything, ss, fixed, on and off road. Cheap good.

I just switched to a 3/32 KMC 610 HX. It's sturdy and as adoubletap says, it's beautifully quiet.

Well, why didn't you say so in the OP? What are we, psychic?
That said, again, UTFS, £1 fee. https://www.lfgss.com/thread43607.html Better? A quick search for "What chain" and this thread was on the FIRST PAGE. FFS.

I'm straying into ignored territory due to the thrill of having a reinstated domestic broadband connection after a harrowing 48 hours without.
Which 3/32 chain would you recommend for fixed gear bike? I'm looking for some high quality chain in the range of GBP 10-30.
A black one would be nice, but it seems to me that the supply is very very limited when it comes to the narrower type of chain.
