Sorry to hear about your accident - Have a look at the following. I appreciate that it is well after the fact now but some of the information may be useful.

Also - insurance companies are dicks.
Don't take is personally.
Be firm, be polite and don't be scared of their tactics; they are trying to get you to back down to get out of paying anything.

I hope you are healing now.
What time did this happen? Where were you and which way were you going?
If you belong to a cycling group like LCC/CTC/etc you will have insurance against claims by other insurance companies, otherwise you will have to fight their claim and counter claim for the cost of bike, injuries, and everything else you can think of. Getting a lawyer on your side might be necessary, someone like Levenes 0800 118899. -

put a meassge up on bike radar in case any of those potential witnesses dwell there. The bloke on the motorbike is a total cunt. Sorry for your distress.

Plus one. I had similar many years back. Woman pulled out on me one night, admitted that she was running late and totally her fault and hadn't seen her. 2 days later apparently I had no lights on...
But I was ultimately vindicated and I would hope you will be too. Good luck.

Many thanks for advice - The incident happened around 6.30pm on Tower bridge road heading towards tower bridge from the south at the junction with Tanner Street. I am a member of LCC and I think that the best thing would be to go through them and I will also chase up CCTV from the police - good news is that i have no broken bones x-rays have confirmed!

That is disgusting behaviour on the part of the motorcyclist, Lefty78--sending the witnesses away, FFS. Get some free legal advice through the LCC first. I really hope one of your witnesses comes forward! Heal up soon.

Write down everything you can recall about the incident as soon as possible. It is possible that the motorcyclist decided to change his mind later but if he deliberately got rid of the witnesses, he could have been attempting to pervert the course of justice. Speak to the LCC. A visit to the police might not be a bad idea to prevent this happening in the future.

Lefty...
My cousin and sis were on the spot at the time. She mentioned that her view was obscured, but saw your bike flying. She came over the see if you were ok.
Send me a PM with your email address and I'll put you in touch as she's not on the forum.
She's said she didnt see much though, but maybe of some assistance.

Thanks Balki you're a legend! I have details from your sister and cousin who both heard the guy admit he caused the collision and that he would get my bike repaired - am preparing documents to argue the case as we speak and the witness details will be a big old help! fingers crossed it sorts itself out

No-one can escape the web of Balki's extended family! Glad to hear you're okay Lefty and hope that the new witnesses help nail this toerag in what was plainly a premeditated attempt to alter the course of justice.
I was involved in a collision on Tower Bridge Road on Tuesday 11th May with a Motorcycle - The motorbike was trying to make a right turn through a gap in the oncoming traffic and did not see me, he pulled in front of me just as I passed through a green light and my bike took the brunt of the impact and is a write-off. Fortunately I got away with bad sprains, cuts bruises and big shock, the motorcyclist apologised profusely and was constantly saying he was at fault. At the time, several passers by including a couple of cyclists stopped to offer themselves as witnesses - I was in shock and sitting on the road but the motorcyclist told the witnesses that the collision was his fault and we would not need witnesses. He told me at the time he would pay for my bike and that he was truly sorry for the causing the collision - but guess what! he has now made a claim against me via his insurers for a broken indicator light and has made up a pack of lies about how I was riding recklessly... so to cut a long story short: on the off-chance that anyone who witnesses the crash uses this forum, please can you contact me as I may need you to act as a witness in this case...thanks and sorry for the bother
