How about asking the police men? Oh, sorry, they probably accidentally deleted the records of who drove the car that evening.

I'm pretty sure most emergency vehicles in London have 'black boxes', which record speed, brakes, siren use etc. That data is recovered after a collision and used in evidence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event_data_recorder#Practice Some private vehicles have them too - worth knowing.

Just reading the blog bit aout trying to ride from Manchester to London.
A bit of ranting in the comments about "fixies".
Brilliant comment here in response
I always used to find that lowish fixed wheels work pretty well over distances (100~150 miles). Being forced to twiddle stopped one of ‘blowing’ up by trying too hard and spinning down hill clears out the lactic acid in a way that you don’t get by either free wheeling of heaving some huge gear- and no my miles weren’t racked up in the gently rolling planes for some where like Suffolk. They were more normally along the North Downs, High Weal and South Downs.
This was rather before fixed wheels were embarrassingly appropriated by poltroons in skinny jeans and hair cuts.Need to set up a website called latfp.com
