  • Friday at work was quite busy, probably 60 miles.
Saturday I cycled the few miles to Bikeworks where I have been doing some cycle training on Saturdays recently. Only had one lesson. It was the guy's third lesson with me. Two weeks ago he had never ridden a bike (he is about 30). Last week he was able to roll down a slope and then start off on the flat and keep upright for a few seconds. This week by the end of the lesson he was riding for two or three minutes, had stopped swerving wildly and heading off on to the grass and straight in to trees and was grinning from ear to ear. Seeing his pleasure and having him ask advice on buying a bike was more fulfilling than anything I have ever done on my own bike. But then I am crap and slow.
Cycled over to Greys Inn for a lesson with Trip who, like her boyfriend, is an assertive and aware cyclist. She mentioned that the Old St roundabout scared her so we headed off there; her pain cave. She was an enjoyable trainee to work with
Cycled back to Greys Inn and then home. Had a nap.
Anticipating a busy day tomorrow I have not touched the bike today. I have eaten a lot of cake and custard though.
