Aha! Glad some other forumer were equally enticed by some Sunday suffering! It was that roundabout at the end, where the sign points to Haslemere and the epic route goes the other way for another 7 miles and a monster climb that really did it for me. I think the challenge would have been enough tbh/ Pleased the weather managed to just hold out for it (sort of), it would have been hugely unpleasant doing it in a downpour.
