Race Night

Hello

I am thinking of holding a race night. some charities hold them and they are horse races. The attendees bet on the winners of the race, and if they are the winner they will take a share of the winnings of that race. Usually there is a preset percentage amount of winnings, which could be 50% to each race winner and 50% to the fundraisers. There are a number of different variations, such as number of races per evening and type of racing.

i was gonna do it with some keiren race footage.

i tried to plan one before but noone really knew what it was and didn't come.

anyway, now i'm explaining and asking if people would be up for it.

I said I'd try to help raise some money for Maya Pedal whilst I'm over here- they need a plethora of stuff, and some stuff they can't get there so i'm gonna post it over- such as a water filtration system.

Anyway i was thiking of doing it in the Lass one Thursday night, as it's the only night i'm free due to my bike maintenance classes. but what time are you playing polo til at the mo? i might be able to switch a monday but thursday would be better.

We've been playing till it gets dark, which is getting later i guess but not sure what time its been last couple of weeks. Monday's would be better but if you can only do it on a Thursday then I'd still come whether it'd be instead of or after some polo. The chorlton park summer series will be 3rd thursday of every month so as long as it doesn't clash i think it would be cool but saying that maybe they'd work on the same night but you would have o check with Lewis on that one.

As long as it wasn't a Chorlton sunday i'm sure people would happily cut polo short if they wanted to come to this, i would!

I'd be down for it and could probably get a couple pedal straps donated as prizes.

I'm involved in organising a 9 day cycling event and we want to put on a race night for the last evening of the event. A horse riding event would be fun (and possibly easier), but it would be class to get a keirin-based event. Can you drop me a line if you got any further with organising it? Ta

yeah the easy way to do it is to download some old keirin races off you tube, or get a japanese friend to send you some videos. we're gonna have a regular race night at pedal starting soon. depending on when your event is come and see ours first?
