Cheapest way to Perpignan

I am planning to rent a cottage near perpignan for a week in June but getting there seems quite expensive on the train and even with those scoundrels ryanair. Does anyone have any tips on a cheap way to get there?

Where are you looking for train fares? I avoid Rail Europe and book SNCF trains direct via http://www.sncf.com/en_EN/flash/ as it is consitently cheaper.
