at the risk of asking a stupid question, what is so good about that park tools one? (presumably it clamps a wide variety of bikes with ease and stands up without wobbling)
is there anything wrong with it?
i'm sorely tempted to get the credit card out (yet again)...

Don't get me wrong, it is good. Strong, adustable, well made.
But all of those stands suffer from the fact that when u put any real force on the BB area the stand moves. U could make it work by installing wheels, putting in a long seat post and using the ground for stability.
But after seeing retro de corsa's which is of similar desgin to the table style I posted above is just a better design. If I did it again I'd def spend the little extra on that design.
Also buyin 2nd hand is hard as they all hold their value.
