If his address is known, someone should get in contact with a parent.
I had a girl living in our flat, didn't pay rent for 5 months, then did a runner. As soon as her old man found out, he drove down from Manchester to sort it out and pay the money. No doubt she got an earful for that in private.
Parents don't want their kids fucking up, I'm sure he/she'll sort it out for him.
