1992 Mercian King of Mercia made from Reynolds 531 Super Tourist tubing. I bought it late last year from the original owner who had had the fame in storage since new. It is in immaculate condition with no chips to the paint anywhere. There is a slight bit of damage to one of the Ms on one downtube decals sustained during its time in storage. There are some small marks on the clearcoat from storage but these are only visible in direct light looking very close up. The frame colour is British Racing Green with a cream headtube and seatube panel and gold luglining. The frame measures 55.5 top tube ct to ct and 56 seattube ct to ct. There are braze ons for cantilever brakes/full mudguards and front and rear brakes.
One interesting thing about the frame is that ti was built with the bb 1" lower than normal. This gives a really stable ride even under load. Unfoutunatly for me it also means that I couldnt get away with the slightly smaller than normal frame size like I had hoped. Ideally. this would suit someone 5ft8 to 5ft11 depending on inseam.
The rest of the bike is as follows.
Wheels: Shimano Ultegra hubs onto Mavic A520 rims. 36 spoke front and rear.
Tyres: Schwalbe Marathon Plus 32c
Shifters: Dura Ace
Mechs: Shimano Tiagra 4500 9 speed tripple
Chainset: Shimano RX100 tripple
Cassette: Shimano Tiagro 12-25 tripple
Brakes: Shimano R550
Brake Levers: Shimano Exage
Headset: Mercian stamped Tange
Stem: Nitto Pearl 90mm
Bars: Nitto Noodle 44cm
Seatpost: Shimano 600
Saddle: Brooks B17 Narrow Black
Mudguards: SKS Chromoplastics
Rack: Tortec Tour
Pedals: Shimano m520 or MKS Touring flats
Asking price is £700 ono. Would rather not split as I have far too many parts surplus to requirements as it is.
