Defensive strategy, it's not often employed... but essentially you roll your ball about 2/3rds up the lane avoiding all camber, it will then sit there to obstruct your opponents next bowl.
I do this regularly to stop an opponent racking up points on a spare/strike, I also tie their shoelaces together when they aren't looking and put butter (or superglue) in the holes of their ball.
Note. Superglueing someone's fingers inside a bowling ball can result in a night in the cells.
