listened to radio 4 last night at 11.30 they were talking about the lbt
large binocular telescope
largest glass lensed stargazer out there
images better than hubble
8 metre polished lens
if it were magnified up to the siz of america the imperfections would be within an inch i.e over 3,000 miles the highest point would be 1 inch above the flat and the lowest point would be 1 inch below flat
takes them about 9 months to polish the lens
can't wait to see the images .... they should be able to see planets around stars and try and find another earth !
