• Hello all,

Just a quick post to see if anyone witnessed my accident involving a cab driver this morning at around 9:20 -9:30am (12th May). I basically slowed for a red at the lights leading to St Pancras way outside Kings cross station, and was taken out by a black cab. The long and short of it is that i have one witness, and several people who said they saw the cab run the red light. If anyone on here saw it, could they let me know, as the cabbie was being a bit of a dick.
Also my bike is now destroyed.. It was my favourite too :(

    Cheers

    Paul

  • ouch sorry to hear that dude..... you ok?
Has Old Faithful died, or was it the Ribble?

  • Its the old war horse gone, fucking frame is bent, back wheel snapped in half, front wheel buckled.. Luckily i seem to be ok, except for a cut leg and a sore elbow... Gonna go up to Kings Cross police station and report it too..

  • sounds like u came out lucky of that one mate
glad u ok tho, cycled there an hour earlier...

  • I think in hindsight it was a pretty bad accident.. Heading up to report it at Kings cross police station now..

  • There should be cctv around there. the feds should be able to access it for you, or go through camden council. Sorry to hear about your bike! hope your ok.

  • Sorry to hear that man. Good luck sort it out.

  • Sounds horrible! Heal up.

  • Unlucky. Glad you weren't injured and I hope you get justice.

  • unlucky , always a shame when a valued/loved bike bites the dust. gutted for you. hope you get him.

  • There should be cctv around there. the feds should be able to access it for you, or go through camden council. Sorry to hear about your bike! hope your ok.

That area should be extremely well covered. Ask the police, or any businesses that look onto that spot, for a copy of their CCTV footage of the incident.

    Glad you're okay though.

  • Thanks all, been to police, filled in incident report etc etc..

  • If you were hit from behind you should be in a strong position. Chase up your witness to make sure he/she is going to be willing to make a statement etc. Then have a look at the 'What to do in case of an accident' thread and be persistent.
Best of luck and get well soon.

  • Thanks, already chased up the witness he seems to be very willing.. Said he would be happy to fill in any kind of witness statement.. Will check out the other thread.

  • I work exactly where your accident took place and have had several run ins with black cab and taxi drivers. They seem to be particually arogant and selfish around the 2 stations, randomly turning and stopping without warning. I see all manner of selfish and dangerous behaviour, Good Luck with your claim.
