Nice frame.
Do you know the year?
-
• #4
Thanks, I'm guessing from the mid 80's due to the panasonic colours and sticker.
-
• #5
i would guess early 80's due to the sticker mentioning world championship wins in 78 and 1979. i think that by mid 80's they would have got over it (milked it enough already) and moved on. this is just me guessing though.
sorry if i missed something.

Just looked and Wiki says Raleigh-Panasonic Team existed for 1984 + 1985 so the milking was a long drawn out affair.

You probab;y know this already but..
The "SB" stamp on the BB shell indicates its a special builds (Ti) from the ilkeston
plant. Numbers were more limited - it might be worth contacting the Ti raleigh yahoo group as there are avid SB collectors on there or Hilary (who's part of the group) to see if he can put some more info your way regarding this bike. Its nice, if I had some cash I'd take it off you.
Wanna swap for a metallic blue/chrome road merckx frame in good nic ?

Could be older as some owners of red, black and yellow TI Raleigh frames got them resprayed in the new Raleigh-Panasonic team colours.

53.34, to be precise.
I so want this frame but I'm so not allowed it, it's my size and I've always wanted a nice Raleigh but funds are not forthcoming and I would be in so much trouble it's not worth it.
Buy it someone!

The frame is still available!!
I have measured the frame myself it is
CTT Seat Tube 20.5" - 52.07cm
CTC Top Tube 21.0" - 53.34cmSomething I forgot to say aswell is that there is a rattle from something inside the top tube. The guy I bought the frame off said it was to show it was a handbuilt frame! but I have done some research and it most probabaly loose flux/swarf which is nothing to worry about! I read about it in this thread here…
http://www.lfgss.com/thread37564.html
(it should be a thread about a Bob Jackson frame)
please pm if interested £220 delivered ono
