Anyone in Newcastle, to remove a threadless headset

Hey I am trying to remove a threadless headset I have sold to a guy on the forum. The problem is I brought it to a shop in Newcastle and the guy was like you will have to book it in and the wait is 2 weeks. FFS its a one minute job, book it in so they can charge me 20 quid or something silly. I would really appreciate any help or advice on maybe how I could remove it myself.....

which bike shop ? if you go to ride (dentons) and just ask for murphy or maybe shaggy they will sort you out. just say austin said they would be able to sort it

hammer and screwdriver didnt work??

how come this isnt in the newcastle subforum? if you still need it done and can bring just the frame down to recyke y'bike i can do it for you with the tool
