Dunno who and where, I just copied and pasted them from another forum where the exact same discussion on 'why do your pieces in derelict buildings' was had. I think the general consensus was that it adds to the viewing experience if you were to come across them unexpectedly.

Also it would probably allow you a lot more time and privacy to complete your work how you wanted it as opposed to a motorway flyover or similar.
