Weight is important to alot of people even if not to you Ed (who would want a 6kg frame for example?)
And 2.2 kg is very much on the heavy side which as Ste_S points out may be an indication of crap, heavy tubing. I think a Steamroller is around 2kg as a comparison.
Of course it may not weight 2.2kg!
