Faggin frames were very popular in Belgium and France. This one from the 1980s is in very sound condition though the paint is a little tatty. The chrome is sound except on the left hand chainstay. This is a very attractive frame which once built up will look really rather cool. It will make a very easy conversion. £95

This Woodrup road frame built from the very light Columbus EL tubing is just exquisite. The chrome is in very good condition and the paint only has a small number of not very obtrusive marks though one side of the top tube appears slightly faded. Columbus EL tubing builds into a delightfully light frame - this is really a lovely frame. Woodrup’s shop confirmed that it was built in 1993 from Columbus EL. £195

Knight was quite a small company in the Midlands that were framebuilders in the 1970s and 80s - mostly they specialised in moderately priced frames. This one built from Phoenix CroMo tubing (plain gauge I am certain) and Capella lugs is a nicely designed small frame that is ideal for a budget conversion as it it has long forged dropouts without a gear hanger. Small well designed road frames are not common and this one has a shortish top tube which makes it ideal for many short women - women on average have shorter bodies in relation to their height than men... Knight were also part sponsors of a British based road race Team in 1979 and 80 - please see details of a genuine ex-Team frame below. £59 SOLD

This road frame was built for a member of the Wightman-Gibbsport-Knight-Galli Professional Team for either 1979 or 1980. It was likely that it was either Danny Horton
or Jack Kershaw who both rode frames of this size. It is unlikely it was built in Knight’s factory - my guess would be that it was built by one of the specialist framebuilders such as Tom Bromwich from the Midlands area. Its extremely nicely built and is in very sound condition. The headset either needs servicing or replacing. £95

This Motobecane frame from the late 1970s is built from Vitus butted tubing. Its in very good condition and comes complete with its original Motobecane branded chainset. The headset and BB appear to be in good order. - both are likely to be French threaded. Rear dropouts are for for a Huret rear dreailleur. It will make a very good conversion. £55

This Somec frame is really rather difficult to date - the long slot dropouts would suggest the mid 1970s but Allen bolt fixing brakes and under BB gear cable routing would be more like 1979 at the earliest... Whatever the frame is really stunning with just the most superb Tulip cutouts in the lugs and BB shell and a coolest profiled rear drops I have seen in a long while. Over the years I have sold several Somec frames all of which have been very special but none sadly in my size - all either too small or large... otherwise I would have kept one for myself. £165

Higgins frames were built in South Norwood; they were best known for their trike and tandem frames but they also built some really nice road frames. They were specialists in fillet brazing frames to give a smooth continuous appearance - just take a look at how good the fillet brazing is on this frame. This frame I think dates from around the late 1950s. £125

Motoconfort were a medium sized French builder- this road frame is built from what I think are one variant of the Nervex serie Legère lugs combined with Reynolds A type plain gauge tubing. It dates I think from the 1960s or perhaps early 70s and comes complete with excellent Lightrace BB and headset, both of which are probably French threaded. It will make an excellent restoration project and will look really rather cool once built up. £59 SOLD

This frame is an ex Team Brite micro lo-pro frame that was ridden by Chris Newton around 1998 and is beautifully built from Reynolds 853 tubing. Paul Donohue’s works built all the Team Brite frames and they employed a tig welder who was truly superb - in my opinion he was just as good as the tig welders at Merlin who I had seen working back in 1994. Its a really gorgeous frame which would equate to about a conventional 21.5 in road frame and is designed for use with a long aero seatpost and aero bars of course. It comes complete as shown in the photos with its original bladed carbon fibre forks. £195
