"for what it's worth"

Ha, did my dashing of platitude bug you, Morgan?
For what it's worth, I was being sincere, and without a dash of belief in patronizing superiority.

But maybe I'm kidding myself. Maybe I want one of these instead.
Wow some of those bikes are amazing, but also seriously expensive!

Not at all horatio, your comment was taken sincerely, and with genuine thanks.
I fear my "for what it's worth" misfired. I intended it to refer back to my original comment, hoping to suggest to those pillorying the following of fashion that I didn't set a great deal of store in the current fancies of art directors either, appearances to the contrary (the shared eye for a classic, or the reach of Pashley's product placement department, is another matter). Sorry, should have made that clearer.

This problem goes away if:
- It is announced that thieves or anyone trying to sell a stolen bike gets hit with a minimum £5000 fine - failure to pay gets given the opportunity to provide some free bicycle maintenance (given their enthusiasm for bikes) or some other pennance.
Cynically, the problem will remain because there is no commitment from any authority to do anything about it
The problem will remain because a whole industry relies upon bikes being stolen i.e. Security (Locks etc), Bikes purchased to replace the ones stolen etc etc

It's a conspiracy.

The LCC tries: "Beat the Thief" campaign 2010.
I don't hold out much hope, but nice to see locks scrape an honourable mention at the bottom of the list. Let's hope the other 7 steps get some attention.

If your main concern is weight, isn't this i pretty heavy?
I worked in a bike shop for a bit and built a couple of Pashley's, from what i remember they weighed a ton?13kg for the Guvnor. I get my exercise.

dat iz sum srs weight

but as the bike weighs a fucking ton anyway you are probably not going to notice
anyway, let the bike be stolen and buy something better instead
i dont understand buying a bike that looks like something from pre 1940s that has not updated any of the specs since then

What can I say, I quite like it.
It's about 3.5kg to carry on a 13kg bike. Of course, you can swap the M18 for a lighter long shank, say the Evo Series 4, or a Kryptolok Series 2. Both fine on my insurance policy. If it gets stolen, I get a brand new bike. Not much to complain about.

James, do you have any idea how long the waiting list is for Morgan cars, and how popular they are?
Retro is beautiful to some. Modern is more beautiful to others. Though I ride modern alu bikes, I'd prefer retro.
You need a new prescription. It is gorgeous.
