For Sale: Carlton flyer Track Bike

Posted on
  • I am a little weary of writing this, but here goes, I have decided to sell my Carlton, the bike is absolutely perfect, everything runs beautifully and I am regretfully selling it to fund plane tickets to visit my sister whilst she is living abroad.
    deep breath...

Un-badged Carlton Flyer Track, (identifyed as a carlton due to the signature wrapover seatstay) Full 531 frame and fork with Campagnolo track and fork ends. 53cm seattube, 56 cm TT
Campagnolo Record Pista Front hub and on-one double fixed Sealed cartridge Rear Hub, both laced 36h to silver Rigida dp18 rims, (built by one of the UK's top wheel builders Russell Cashmore) wrapped in continental gatorskin 23c's.
Campagnolo Record Pista fluted Cranks with lightly used 49T ring and original camopagnolo BB with brand new bearings.
    Selle italia turbo saddle
    Currently running a 72 GI with a 49-18 ratio.

The bike has covered less than 100miles and as a result everything is in fantastic condition no dents, dings scratches or tarnishing. As you can see the frame produces lovely Tight Clearances and gives the bike a lovely lively feel, the fork is drilled for a brake and brake and lever are included.

As you can tell I love this bike to bits, I took my time to build it and have fortunately only ridden it in dry weather, I am asking for £500 collected from either Henley in Arden, Birmingham, Stratford upon avon or I can potentially arrange a time when I can be down for a zone 5 pick up.

buyer has their option of risers, black classic taped bullorns or I could find some Brand new Drops. If you have any Questions or would like some more photographs please drop me a PM or I can give you a number if preferred.

    thanks for looking everyone

  • hay chief, might be interested. How tall are you?

  • Are you sure?.... God, forgive me the honesty, but I wouldn't sell this bike for a trip abroad : (

  • Sell your body instead.

  • I am 5ft 9 and this fits me perfectly, the saddle to bar drop is lovely as well, and to nuknow its not just a trip abroad, my sisters finding it really tough living overseas and were each doing what we can to help her out, I'm going over there to help her out for a week

I would sell my body faster, than my Carlton.

  • My cousin might be interested in this when he gets back off hols, and if you haven't sold it by then. Will PM you if so

  • nice bike.. i want...

  • cheers for the interest everyone, so far all PMs have been replied to, postage looks to be around £25ish however I am planning to be down in the next week or so, so pickup from Mill Hill broadway or train station would definitely be possible, (zone 5, overground from kings cross) cheers again everyone

  • Ok, so maybe risers aren't everyone's cup of tea, here are some fresh photos:

    Tight clearances all round:

    Lovely lugs:

I can be down in a week or so for collection from Mill Hill Broadway NW7
or I will discuss postage options with the buyer Still asking for just £500

buyer will also get anything or everything they like from My other for sale thread and I should be able to sort out some other bits too, so come on guys please buy my bicycle!
all the best and happy riding

  • That is extremely pretty. I bought a beat up Carlton flyer frame for my dad, I hope one day it will look like that!
If I had the money I would snap it up, good luck with the sale.

  • what are the stem and risers? would take them if possible.

  • Stem and risers won't be for sale I'm afraid, selling the full bike. I'm open to offers of £500 posted

  • May look better with a quill stem and set of drops.

  • I agree I think I may invest in a bar stem combo to help it look a little prettier as I really don't want to put this on ebay, i'd prefer it to stay in the forum family

  • Your bike is priced fair, it should sell but for info, if you split, I sold a crankset for £125 recently same as yours I think 165mm PISTA stamped on it.

    Good luck.

  • Would be keen on the weels if you split.

  • Would love the bike, but no way my 6' 1" is going to work on that frame.

  • Bicycle sold awaiting delivery
