Thanks for all help everyone, more ideas are brewing and I'm starting to do more detailed research and getting some drawings down. I really want to get in the workshop and start protoyping but it's going to fair amount of time until then.

I thought they were going to be a bit shoddy but they are loooking NICE! and they actually look like mudguards which isnt what i was expecting, anyways im not a mudguard person so i dotn need any but a recommendation, perhaps personalised colours?? I think your fan base would grow huge if you offerd colours as well as au natural.

This is THE book on modern techniques for making stuff out of laminated wood:
Gougeon Brothers on Boat Construction: Wood and West System Materials: Amazon.co.uk: Meade Gougeon: Books
Very strongly recommended for anyone looking at making strong, light, compound-curved wooden things for wet environments. -

I'm going to make some from laminating veneers and then shaping the compound curve. I'll get some photos when I've done

Popped in to TFG yesterday and snapped a pic. They seemed to have worked out well for prototypes. Chuffed!

You've probably seen these before - but does anyone know if something like this is available in the UK? I want some!
I like the Daniel Salmon mudguards, some models have a small bridge that stays on and removeable blades. Not only they fit frames without clearance, they fill agap between regular mudguards and race-blades. For inspiration:
