  • Last week i cycled back to london from Bristol its nice because its pretty much flat and you can just spin the whole way, also it was a good way to start breaking in my new brooks. Last summer rode bristol to landsend fixed 280 miles i think, it took three days but it was hilly as fook and dartmoor was hell it had ridiculous headwinds.

  • A mate of mine has done GUC twice. He's also raced 24hrs on a 400m running track on at least 2 occasions, so draw your own conclusions on what makes him tick...

My last long ride attempt was Cov to Bristol (mtb, slicks, panniers with camping stuff) but i quit and got the train at cheltenham due to an insane headwind making for v.slow progress. Pick your battles :)

  • Dammit, I did 160-odd miles today, and still got truly thumped into second place. Awesome work vistaed - chapeaux!

  • I'm always entertained by James' cycling exploits but what most people don't realise is that he always rides wearing boxers made of hessian that are THREE sizes too small ;-)

  • @Lessismore. Home made as well, they make very good compression shorts, stops the cramp :)

  • Anyone looking to a fixie ride from Wolvo / Walsall / B'ham area give me a shout and PM me on here.

  • jad21579 - i'm commuting daily to and from Walsall and Wolverhampton, so if you fancy riding back with me any days - let me know.

  • +100 mile people - what ratio were you running?

  • the massive-epic rider who posted on here actually came in to oyb looking for a harder gear to prevent uncomfortable spinning-out...

    madness.

i have saddle-sores just from bloody bike polo.
