Sorry to spam, but the Let's Get Lost ride will be meeting here at 11 on Thursday, if you have nothing better to do come and have a cake and ride towards the sea with us while following out own diluted sense of direction.
No maps!

Frania spilled a bowl of banana porridge on me groin, so I'm not ready to go yet. I'll pop in later.

We've checked it out with Ian.
More space than I though. Space to lock bikes outside. Coffee, cake, some beer, something to eat.
Nothing much really, but it's not a fancy coffee shop, isn't it.
It needs more character and it will get there probably quite soon.
A nice place to grab a coffee on the way to the pub, because you don't need to worry about your bike. -

Had a quick cider/coffee there today. Very nice to have somewhere with ample parking for bikes and nice and spacious inside with many bike related things to read/look at. Will be going again.

What about the workshop part of it though? I have two cranksets I need to get the chainrings off and haz no bolt tool. Can I pop in and use tools and do I have to buy something?
-

Give them a ring and find out... once you know, post the answer here so that others know.
I'm under the impression you can just use stuff as the need wonts, but best to call and check it out.

I'll pop down tomorrow as I'm up the road. Free tool use would be amazing!

i think one of the owners is a bike mechanic. their workshop doesn't look like it's fully set up yet, but i did noticed a full array of park tools.

are there any cycling events on at the minute to watch ?

Giro starts on the 8th. You could see if they have Jared Graves smashing the opposition in the 4x on V+/Sky+.. :)

Isn't Krisz one of the co-owners? I spoke to him at HH a couple of weeks back and he said he was starting up a bike repair shop come cafe on Old St. I assume it's one and the same.
He is a very good bike mechanic btw.
No, one of his friends and ex-colleagues has opened up this one. He is going to open up a new shop on Pitfield Street, but is still going through the legal wranglings.

I would suggest it would be the polite thing to do.
-
• #124
I wasn't expecting to use the tools for free, but would rather not sit there like a goon by myself with a coffee that I don't really want. But if it's the new forum haunt then I should set aside extra time to be social I guess. And of course if the tools are free then a little cake couldn't hurt could it.
