The sprinters want traditional match sprints. This would consist of the following:
Qualifying round - Flying 200m - Top 32 QualifyThe top 32 riders are seeded - meaning the first placed rider will face the 32nd placed and so on.
Followed by 1-on-1 knock out round leaving use with 16 riders
Followed by another 1-on-1 knock out round leaving use with 8 riders
Then onto a best-of three-race format. Riders defeated get another chance to continue in the competition through the repachage races.
It take a lot of time. And so lot of organising. This is why many event organisers don't bother. It can, and should, however be done... Even I would give it a go.
:-)
good to see the enduro boy speaking on my behalf and telling me what i supposedly want!
Personally I would be happy with 6 x up to 6 up one lap sprints, first two through to a 2nd round, then 4 x 3 ups winner through to semi, 2 x 2 ups winers through to final second to minor final. shouldnt take too long if u want have a 200m tt for seeding great but not a big deal if you dont.

And it is pretty boring to watch, even for those you are into sprinting.
Keirin's might be a good substitute to keep the sprinters happy?
6 at a time only 3 laps, so won't take long?
what a load of rubbish, would be the best thing to watch!

Very hard work. Not sure I should have ridden with the As yesterday, although I feel like I am learning and getting fitter all the time. Not good for my moral getting whipped though :)

very well organized meeting, as expected from the rollapaluza.
Mike, stick with the As. you'll improve faster and it's safer too ;) -

Match sprint.
They are actually quite far apart, the picture makes it look like they are closer -
• #46
Very much so! I just assumed that they were moving very fast at that moment.

Apart from the great turnout of spectators and riders, the weather, the racing and the overall ambience one of the highlights was seeing "that" pic of spaghettihoops and superted in A3 hard-copy!
Keirin's would be an ideal substitute. But then that ain't that much different to a 3 lap dash....
sorry, that was to easy.
:-P
The sprints can be very boring to watch but if you have a good chief whip you can get the heats done between endurance events. Do the qualifying late morning. Perhaps ony 16 qualify, this would shorten the rounds.
Could then run it like this:
First round knock out - 8 sprints
2nd round knock out - 4 sprints
3rd round best of 3 - 6 sprints
Final & minor final best of 3 - 6 sprints
1st and 2nd round run over 1 lap, 3rd and 4th over 2 laps.
