Ha, that's a tough one. I don't know anything much about the mechanics of training, but there certainly should be equal rules for all even governing training, so that among other things there was a clear understanding of which supplements and drugs are permitted or not.
I personally think that doping is a logical consequence of elite sport, although the doping problem obviously occurs among amateurs, too (but there probably because they don't train enough in parallel with drugs).
Everybody would like to see who's truly naturally and un-enhancedly good at sport, even though there are still factors in play like who has access to the best equipment etc., but I doubt it is ever going to happen.
I see elite sport as mere entertainment and part of showbusiness, but that doesn't justify doping/cheating. In fact, it is arguably less entertaining if you know/suspect that someone's cheating. The moral issue doesn't go away.
I don't know a great deal about the issues, though, and I've never been a competitive amateur athlete, either.
