Not bad for a beater hey?
soooooo ugly n rubbish. the full bikes are only 200£, its probably more economical to buy the full bike and just sll theae bits you dont want. one was listed a while back with straight bars and brakes for only 180£. creates clearence are £160 for a full bike aswell.

I really liked that Dave Yates - seems like an ok price. I imagine the seller is a bit disapointed if it really did have hundreds of watchers as per the listing...
Don't know much about the cranks. Are they PMPs? If so I read somewhere that some team (Polish?) thought they worked and bought a load of them at "near to collectors prices ($500)", so could be a good ebay buy. Anyone here?

Was about to take offence then realised it was an open sport...
Just built up a set of double fixed low flange Phils onto Open Pros as a comfy bombproof wheelset:-)
Or maybe I've just made an arse of myself?

Well done sir. You have snapped up an absolute beauty.
As I said I have a track frame that is almost identical (red candy rather than copper) and it is just wonderful, as befits a frame made by a man many consider to be one of the greatest framebuilders that ever lived. It's far far lighter than anything made of 531 has any right to be, stiff as a board, responsive, and ridiculously pretty.
Take a look at those head lugs - they are Prugnat long points cut and filed down to be as thin and light as possible. That used to be Terry Dolan's job :-)
And you'll love the detail of the fastback seatstays fillet brazed in, with the seat lug filed to a completely seamless feather edge above it, and luglining going below the stays.Treat it properly and don't put any Shimano on it or Harry will spin in his grave.

Gosh, and I only bought it because it was pretty.
;)
I'll be sure to post some details on the current projects thread when I get building ;)Cheers.

Interested in selling it Backsplash?
-
• #24821
Nope.
I'm pretty excited, may have to sell one of the other five bikes to make room.
If anyone has any suggestions about what I should build it up with, please let me know, I do not want to make Harry spin in his grave.

DAmn you. I was about to buy it now but by the time it went through it was gone.

^ I think a lot of us were :-)
It's probably late 60s or early 70s. You can get a better idea from the frame number on the BB shell. Vintage Campag Nuovo or Super Record, by the way.
Or Royce and keep it British -
