  • update. it wasn't a body. it just floated past again, much closer this time. it's a mannequin/dummy thing. police helicopter and lifeguards came back and fished it out again. they were only practicing! hooray!

so that is what they were doing. in a lecture today at 12 (at aldwych), helicopter constantly flying around, lecturer goes to window, sticks his head out for a bit, closes the window "fucking single glazing". about twenty minutes later when helicopter is still buzzing "i am fucking paying for their petrol!"

Hey, VB, can we have an IoM sub forum? Bunk beds would be fine.

  • Andy, I'm sure you talk enough to yourself as it is. ;P

  • I was half asleep, sat on my toptube at the lights on blackfriars bridge looking at a really nice FBM sword
lights changed, I pushed the pedal forgetting that my wheel was turned to the side, flopped face down pon d tarmac in front of a bus. #fail.

  • That's not a spot, that's a splat. Commiserations!

  • Andy, I'm sure you talk enough to yourself as it is. ;P

I've started correcting my own punctuation, weird.

  • flopped face down pon d tarmac

Good choice of words. Wish I saw this.

Done something similar before. Was getting on my bike after dropping something off, about to call in empty. Straddled the bike, clipped left foot in, let go of handlebars to operate radio and tighten bag. Front wheel turns to the right on it's own, cue the bike pulling me leftwards to the ground. Couldn't unclip coz of the angle I was at. All whilst talking to an extremely stressed out controller. I got shouted at for falling off my bike whilst stationary. Fail.

  • Oh, Max ...

A couple of joke patterns will now be unleashed by this post.

Pattern A: Max is tall, so any fall from his bike must have been from a great height. Ouch!

Pattern B: Max didn't work as a courier for a very long time, so variations on 'it was an exciting week, wasn't it?' and so forth will be appearing.

Pattern C: As Max is young (to the envy of all the old, jaded, obsessive-compulsive posters on here), he will be picked up on the undertone of the seasoned voice of experience in the post.

Come on, everybody, the forum expects! ;P

  • Sniffy at CPT, we're kicking off ED drinks when I've finished with the degree nonsense ;D
