give motorcyclists, cyclists and horse riders at least as much room as you would when overtaking a car (see Rules 211-215)
This is the part I hate as a driver. When I try to give cyclist plenty of space there's always a twat on a moped who tries to overtake me at the same time and get too anxious.
Also, when DJ pointed out, that you should overtake cars as you were a driver not a cyclist, this also often poses risk of being mown down by a speeding motorbike, so look over your shoulder to make sure there's no organ donors behind you (if you manage to notice them at all).
There are some bikers who are far too relaxed about overtaking stationary traffic at high speed and then become surprised there's a cyclist in their way who popped out from between the cars (yes, I have had few exchanges with twats on Suzukis for some reason).
I also hold a motorcycle licence, but it doesn't give me the right of ploughing in the middle of the road when there's a traffic jam. You still have to observe the road and watch out for others.
